Appointment to retirement living Charter

Inspired Villages has appointed GRAHAM as one of several preferred construction partners on a new Charter to help develop new later living retirement villages, starting in the South East region of England.

Inspired Villages was established in 2017 by long-term partner Legal & General. The aim of the Charter is to support Inspired Villages with the delivery of its ambitious pipeline of over 2,500 specialist homes for over 65s over the next six years, including one of the UK’s largest retirement villages in Kingswood, Surrey. Each Inspired village in the pipeline will provide around 200 residential units with landscaped gardens, restaurants, café, gym, and wellbeing centres including a swimming pool. Residential units will be a mix of two-storey apartment blocks and cottages. Inspired Villages currently operates six retirement villages across the UK in locations spanning from Exeter to Cheshire.

Shaun Whelan, Construction Director at Inspired Villages, said:

“Creating communities that help people live healthier, independent lives for longer is central to Inspired Villages’ ethos. We have a robust pipeline of future sites with over 2,500 homes on track for delivery over the next six years that will help more over 65s enjoy their later years and feel supported as they age. We are excited to be partnering with the highly rated firms, such as GRAHAM, who have signed up to our Charter to develop more homes to meet the growing demand for age appropriate housing."

Rob Joyce, Regional Director at GRAHAM said:

“Inspired Villages is a best-in-class developer and operator of luxury living retirement villages in the UK and we are pleased to have been appointed to its latest Charter. We have years of experience working in partnership with residential housing developers and a real understanding of how to deliver challenging, phased projects with sensitivity and attention to detail. Our team will use these skills to help bring forward Inspired Villages’ vision.”
