GRAHAM Interior Fit-Out has completed a major fit-out for one of America’s largest insurance firms - Aflac.

The project was completed on schedule on the first floor of City Quays 2, Belfast, where the Fortune 500 Company has taken up residence.

The scheme included work on raised access flooring, partitions, M&E, glazed partitions, decorations, soft finishes and IT and AV installations, all of which were completed on schedule despite holdups during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This included longer lead in times for material delivery and lockdown, however, the company reacted swiftly to employ alternative measures to ensure deadlines were met.

Our fit-out team executed a “techy office brief” as requested by the client. It complemented the functional fresh fit-out finish with mural art from Belfast artist, Danni Simpson, and a grass feature wall to bring the outdoors inside.

Aflac, which is the largest insurance company in Japan and the largest supplemental insurance firm in the US, will use its Belfast office as a global security and technology innovation base.

Mark Gibson, Managing Director for GRAHAM, said:

“It was an honour to put our stamp on Aflac’s Northern Ireland base. Although there were many challenges to overcome, including the closure of the site mid-way through, we managed to return to work, complete with no additional time on the project duration.
“Lead in times of materials became a challenge too in the final stages of the project but we proposed a lot of different alternatives to ensure we got the project over the line.
“Our client wanted a tech office look and feel and that is what we have delivered. It is a fresh space that will give way to the right ambience for productivity in the workplace. We are delighted that the company is pleased with the finishing result.”
