GRAHAM has been awarded a three-year water hygiene contract by East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

The privately-owned facilities management provider will deliver Legionella planned maintenance, risk assessments and remedials across five main hospital sites - Canterbury Hospital, Buckland Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, William Harvey Hospital and Royal Victoria Hospital.

East Kent Hospitals is one of the largest hospital trusts in England, serving a local population of around 695,000 people. It has developed a national and international reputation for delivering high quality specialist care, particularly in urology, kidney disease and vascular services.

This latest compliance services contract award for GRAHAM follows a recent three-year contract extension for the provision of Legionella treatment and risk management services on behalf of the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT).

GRAHAM Contracts Manager, Chris Shepherd, believes the new partnership with East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust underlines the reputation for quality delivery which the GRAHAM compliance services team has developed throughout the UK healthcare sector. He said:

“It is a privilege for us to be selected by East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust to provide these critical water hygiene services. The Trust provides ‘great healthcare’ wrapped in a ‘we care’ philosophy. Our intention is to replicate its high standards and ensure that it has total confidence that its statutory water hygiene obligations are being met, monitored and, ultimately, complied with. This latest contract adds to our growing healthcare portfolio across the UK and, following the heroic efforts of the NHS in responding to the Covid-10 pandemic, we are especially proud to be a trusted partner.”

A spokesperson for 2gether Support Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary company of East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“We are delighted to be working in partnership with GRAHAM for the delivery of water hygiene management, and we will use the latest technology to help provide a safe, effective and compliant service.”
