GRAHAM has achieved international certification ISO 44001 for ‘Collaborative Business Relationships’, reinforcing the privately-owned company’s position as a leader in the UK construction market.

The independent third-party endorsement was formally announced on August 3rd following a rigorous Certification Stage 2 audit, which revealed zero non-conformances or areas for concern.

ISO 44001 represents a new generation of international standard and provides a common platform to harness the benefits of collaborative working.

It follows GRAHAM’s status as the first contractor in the UK to achieve Investors in People (IIP) Platinum and IIP Wellbeing accreditation and also the British Standards Institute (BSI) Dual Kitemark™ certification for both BIM Design and Construction (PAS 1192-2) and Asset Management (PAS 1192-3).

Commenting on the attainment of the prestigious ISO certification, GRAHAM’s Group Executive Chairman, Michael Graham, said:

“The award of the ISO 44001 certification is a fantastic achievement and one that validates our unique way of working, whereby true collaboration is at the forefront of every relationship.

“As a truly national business, we are actively promoting and adopting collaborative best practice and this has helped shape our continual improvement and sustainable, responsible business growth, which is reflected in our impressive 2017/18 financial results.

“GRAHAM is in an excellent position and each of our divisions has a record order book and a pipeline of opportunity that is strong in both volume and quality.

“This international third-party certification is a ringing endorsement of how we are conducting our operations to the highest standards, adhering to open-book principles and founded on close collaboration with our clients, partners and Supply Chain.”

ISO 44001

All of GRAHAM’s regions and sectors have now attained ISO 44001 following the Certification Stage 2 audit.

Upon completion the NQA auditor stated that the organisation is ‘very engaged with collaboration and committed to ISO 44001’.

The benefits of the certification to GRAHAM and its clients include:

  • Provides infrastructure to support GRAHAM’s collaborative approaches
  • Highlights a competitive advantage that GRAHAM offers to clients
  • Provides evidence for work winning teams to promote GRAHAM’s collaborative approach
  • The certification applies to all GRAHAM regions and sectors
