Haul of CCS Awards for GRAHAM

Haul of CCS Awards for GRAHAM image

GRAHAM has picked up a string of honours at this year’s national Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) Awards in recognition of our impact on raising the bar for considerate construction and for improving the image of the industry.

With four Gold Awards, two Runner-up positions (Most Considerate Site) and six Bronze Awards, our teams have been rewarded with national recognition for their impact on the environment, communities and people.

Over the past number of months, award ceremonies have been attended by thousands of construction industry professionals across the UK under the banner #loveconstruction.

Positive impact

CCS, which has been operating its annual awards for over 20 years, praised the GRAHAM project teams for the measures put in place to facilitate improved consideration towards the public, the workforce, local neighbours and the environment.

Some of the impressive initiatives at various GRAHAM sites include:

  • A unique university partnership that is looking at improving our workforce health & wellbeing
  • The first construction site (Ulster Hospital - Acute Services Block) to be JAM-Card friendly where staff are trained to support individuals with autism/aspergers
  • Innovative approaches to the 'Buy Social' initiative
  • The development of Busy Boards to support local community parent/toddler groups
  • Training in mentoring practices to help support and recruit individuals from disadvantaged groups
